Comment on A nice image describing the water problems. by helefant

Hello Justas, I believe showing shocking messages is a very effective way to anchor the truth in people’s mind. In our capitalistic world nowadays, poeple only start carring if there are concerned themselves. The negative can have its efficiency sometimes. And tell me, is there any positive aspect about water deprivation on earth these times?

Comment on Storyboard for Solutions by helefant

Hello IDE Collaborators, your story board was really interesting to read because the steps were described in details. By responding to those three questions, (what-why-how?) you set up the ultimate basis for your final video. As I analyzed your storyboard I could see that you are focusing on crowdsourcing, a very effective way to attract a certain target, if you match the interest of your target group with your offer. Youth, you wish to approach young people at university, the perfect place for it, but how did you imagine doing it? Distributing flyers in the hallway, presenting the topic by speeches.. ? what do yu think about creating an app, this is how the youth is getting informed nowadays. Thus to complete your storyboard it would have been nice to have your NGO’s purposes and your team aimings explains. In my opinion this should also appear in the video.

Comment on Week 2: Kick-off by justelis122

Excellent idea Helen on the app, as now a days everything is getting digitally. However you said ‘create an app’ to spread awareness. Well creating an app is not that simple. I have a better idea, maybe instead of creating an app try and get IWF to work with app organization and advertise the wastage of water there. For example companies producing popular app games could work with IWF. Advertising the wastage of water it in their app or even could start producing a water game that spreads awareness. BLUE MOOD the other group has a similar idea, creating an app to achieve donations.

Yes Helen, I totally agree with you, this picture has a power message to it. Since one of IWF’s goal is to spread awareness, isn’t a perfect way spreading awarness just in one picture. I think Batco should have deigned a vivid picture for IWF or atleast give them the idea to design a picture like this having such an emotional strong message in it. Maybe they could start putting banners around the world?

Comment on The Story Board by justelis122

There is clear information on what the problem is (wastage of water) and IWF’s aim. Yet as i read other blogs, the content of the storyboard supposed to be based on what your solution is to help your NGO rather than clarifying the problem. If this is added to your storyboard, it would be perfect.

Comment on BATCO’s Sweet Spot Identified by helefant

In your Sweet Spot Model, you mentioned and visualized the three main components, your gift, your passion and your purpose, however I’m missing the outcome spot. By finding out your sweet spot, you establish clearity about the needs of your NGO, that you are trying to meet all along this project. Even though the BATCO team has significant qualities such as its creativity, design skills or environmental interests, those aspects must be consistent with what the client requires help from you. A few could be the striving for fresh water, the consideration of water wastage and the serious notice regarding the declining water resources on Earth.

If you had to summarize it in one sentence, I would suggest it as follows: “Using our design talents, our gift for creativity and our deep interest in environmental issues, we want to help our NGO, because we are aware and concerned by the aggravated water circumstances on earth that we’d like to see improved.”

Comment on Reflection Week 6 by helefant

It is beneficial that your collaboration with François and Nancy is as intense. By informing them about your results and letting them know explicitly how far you are with your project, the returning advice and assistance can help you to get much further. Your reflexion makes it evident that your team is very structured and ambitious. I’m getting very curious about the storyboard!

This picture perfectly points out that we, in developed countries, actually don’t realise how precious water can be. While we use it and waste it just for our own fun, others do not even have enough to live and have to save and share every drop of it for survival. In the future, I really hope this injustice is going to change!

Comment on Reflection Week 7 by helefant

In this post you often mentioned the words “we as a whole” or “our whole team” which gives me a very positive impression about your team collaboration. Thus you also confirmed having hold discussions during your group meetings for solving team issues and obstacles and possibly estimating your progress. In my opinion the key factor for a successful achievement is to get feedback, to question yourselves and to reflect together in order to guide the group work structure and maintain clarity. So the way you would progress the best is team gathering, communication and collaboration within the team.
